What About Your Image?

What About Your Image? is funded by the Office for Youth's Positive Body Image Grant, which targets young people in addressing issues related to body image. Young girls and boys feel the pressures of body image now more than ever in their quest to become physically ‘perfect’. The body image message is important for all young people to hear. What About Your Image? is aimed at 12-25 year olds and explores the issues behind adopting a positive body image attitude, with the vision to help young people be more nderstanding of their own body as well as other’s.

The first part of this programme was held on 28 November 6-9pm which offered free workshops in body mapping (artistic exploration of what you like and dislike about your body, helping you to recognise and accept imperfections), circus, and fitness at the Frankston Arts Centre's Cube37. This event engaged over 250 people and helped to spread the word of positive body images.

The second part of this programme is for school bookings. Between February and March 2010—Schools can book workshops including, debating activities, demonstrations in celebrity re-touching, and circus activities. For more details and booking forms please download the PDF. Through these workshops student feedback will be recorded and used as the basis to start an online forum to continue the discussions, meet like minded people, or use as a reference for a school project. The forum will be heavily monitored with an antibullying policy.

Please note: Schools are limited to 3 bookings each.
